LuxuryPAW’s Beau Stars in Instructional Video…How To Make (DOG) Snow Angels

Beau in the Boston Public Garden, December 30, 2012.

Well we finally had our first real snowfall here in Boston last night and I don’t think you can find anyone more excited about it than Beau!

For all you pups out there who gaze longingly at the children making snow angels with such ease and only wish you could join in the fun, Beau has created the following instructional video to teach you how to make your very own snow (dog) angel. See for yourself!  He makes it look so easy doesn’t he?

Now that you know how to make your own snow (dog) angel have your two-legger photograph or video you making your own, email it to us at LuxuryPAW and we’ll post the best snowy dog on the LuxuryPAW homepage in January.

Hey you… yes you, the one who can read :) . Does your pup like to frolic in the fluffy stuff?  Send us your favorite snowy dog picture or video and we’ll post the best one on the LuxuryPAW homepage in January.  Remeber to subscribe here to the LuxuryPAW Youtube Channel to keep up to date on all of the LuxuryPAW video segments.

Happy Tails, Janine & Beau

LuxuryPAW is Hitting The Road – Woofstock Here We Come!

Beau and I are hitting the road again this weekend. We’re heading to Canada for a whirlwind Friday night to Sunday night trip…leaving from Boston Friday night and arriving back in Boston on Sunday…so LOTS to do and see with very little time!

First where to stay?  You know that’s always my first and favorite question.  The answer; The InterContinental Toronto Yorkville.  We just did a piece on Examiner.com for the InterContinental and you can read that article  HERE.

Next, I almost forgot because I’m driving there, but…it’s a different country!  I will need a valid Passport. If you are driving and crossing the border it is suggested that you bring your actual passport, if you are flying just the passport card is enough.  We’re driving and I’m taking no chances…note to self; pack both.

I also discovered that in order to take my rental car into Canada I need the rental company to secure a special insurance document for me.  They do this for free and apparently you are almost never asked for it BUT, if the border guards ask you for it and you don’t have it, they just may turn you around and deny you entry to the Country. If you are driving to Canada in a rental car, depending on the car rental company, you may or may not need this documentation; it’s best to ask at the time of rental and it can take up to three days to procure, so reserve your vehicle early. We are using Zipcar and they need it…YUP, we’re Zipsters :) .

Most importantly where your pet is concerned, you will need a vaccination certificate from your vet stating all of the identifiers of your pet; color, breed, sex, name, etc. and proof of Rabies vaccination.  There is no waiting period between when you can enter Canada and the time that your dog has the shots and again, you may or may not be asked to provide this documentation by a border guard but, guaranteed if you don’t have it…you’ll need it. Speaking of animal medical documentation.  I also always ask Beau’s vet to print out a copy of his medical history to take with me in case of emergency and sometimes I am asked for medical/health of the animal information upon check-in at our hotel.  Again, everything just goes much more smoothly if you take a little time before hand to anticipate what you might need along the way…especially when you consider that you’ll be checking-in to a new place, the dog on his lead, luggage, ect., hands full and oh right, the dog’s been in the car for hours and needs a little time to ‘take care of business’ — all that, AND every person in the lobby wants to say hello to your dog and chat you up while you’re checking in…so, it can be a hectic situation.  If you just have everything you might need at the ready it’ll be a piece of cake.

Watch for updates and photos all weekend on Twitter @luxurypaw beginning Friday night when we hit the road.

LuxuryPAW Launches a KICKSTARTER Campaign!

Beau and I have created and launched a KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN hoping to fund a 30 minute television series pilot about luxury pet-friendly travel destinations!

Please visit the KICKSTARTER LINK http://kck.st/IXJZ3E to view our project and pledge to help make this television series a reality…It’s a long way off, but the first step is getting a professionally filmed pilot so that we have a polished product to shop around to networks and distributors.

This is kind of a “Samantha Brown-esque travel series but WITH YOUR DOG”.  If you’d like to be able to tune in once a week and get fantastic ideas and inspiration on how and where to travel with your pet vote YES with your pledge to the Kickstarter Campaign.

This campaign only lasts 20 days…either we reach our funding goal and go shoot the pilot episode, or we don’t and we won’t…

Join us on this amazing ride!

xoxo,

Janine & Beau
